Des Plaines, Illinois — home

At this time, I had feeders set up in the backyard outside the window of the garage bedroom where we lived.  There were two large trees, a norway maple by the back fence and a mulberry by the shed.  There was also row of bushes along the property line.  We got a lot of birds, and I spent a lot of time looking out the window.

I woke up this morning and was greeted by a lifer.  A male Purple Finch was eating sunflower seeds on the platform feeder about 20 feet from the window.
