Grunts and Gettys

We spent Saturday evening, October 27 in Chicago with our good friends. Our first stop was R.J. Grunts, the original Lettuce Entertain You Restaurant, across from Lincoln Park.

The inside is decorated with photos of employees, past and present.

Grunts is the home of the first ever salad bar. Had I known that, I would have indulged. But I wasn’t at all disappointed with what I had — a patty melt with Angus beef mixed with brisket. It was amazing, as were the home fries.

From R.J. Grunts, we headed to Moody Bible Institute to see a Keith and Kristyn Getty concert.

We sat in the front row of the balcony. The Gettys are from Ireland, and much of their music has an Irish sound, which I enjoy. After the concert, some of the musicians gathered in the lobby and played a few more songs.
