The Catlow Theater in Barrington opened in 1927. For a few years, it featured vaudeville acts before switching entirely to movies in the early 1930’s. It’s been in business ever since, although it now features movies that have been out for a couple months.
The Catlow is in partnership with Boloney’s, the sandwich shop that shares the building. We visit probably eight or ten times a year, always combining dinner with the movie. Sometimes we go even when we’re not thrilled with the movie — How to Train Your Dragon, for example.
Karen understand the importance of story in a photograph, so she grabbed a Sesame Street book from the restaurant counter for the photo. Then, as I was lining up the shot, a gull flew low overhead. Nate and Karen turned to look at it, and I had my photo.
