The Donut Mill

We took Lindy up to Cripple Creek and Victor to give her a taste of the mountains. On the way, we stopped at The Donut Mill in Woodland Park. It’s a popular place, known for large donuts and cinnamon rolls the size of hubcaps.


I bought a cinnamon-sugar yeast donut. Sally had a maple glazed, and Lindy had a raspberry filled. The three of them packed a box that would normally hold at least half a dozen donuts from most places.


Sally liked hers. Lindy made it through about half of hers and scraped off most of the jelly. I ate mine, of course, but I found the dough dense and cake-like. Still, it’s a convenient stop on the way to a day in the mountains.
