Description:Jimmy Stewart is Grant McLaine. He's a traveling musician who was fired from his former job with the railroad for helping his kid brother — the Utica Kid (Audie Murphy), a member of a train-robbing gang. Grant is given another chance with the railroad. He has to get the payroll past his brother's gang. The train is held up and the Kid gets the money, but when Grant is pinned down by the rest of the gang, the Kid comes to his brother's aid and gets killed for his trouble. Grant gets the money through, gets his job back and gets the girl, a woman who couldn't decide between the brothers.

Review - Night Passage

Jimmy Stewart looks pretty tough, except when he's trying to look tough. Then he just looks old. This movie featured some incredible scenery, but there were too many characters and it wasn't always clear how they related to each other or what purpose they were supposed to serve.
