Description:Jeff Webster (Jimmy Stewart) is a wanderer who cares for nobody except himself and his partner Ben (Walter Brennan). Together, they run a herd of cattle up into the Yukon to sell to the gold miners. On the way, the run into Sheriff Gannon of Skagway, a man who uses the law to fill his own pocket. Gannon's partner, Rhonda Castle (Ruth Roman) hires Webster to help her transport some goods to Dawson. On the way, she falls in love with him. Webster and Ben mine a lot of gold, but Gannon and his gang waylay them, killing Ben and leaving Webster wounded. Webster is nursed by Renee (Corinne Calvet), a young woman who also is in love with him. When Webster recovers, he heads into town to confront Gannon and his gang. Rhonda tries to warn Webster, but Gannon kills her. Webster manages to kill Gannon, the townspeople stand up and take care of the rest of the gang, and Renee ends up with Webster.

Review - Far Country, The

A bit far-fetched and dramatic, as old movies often are, but this one isn't too bad. The characters are good, even if the plot is a bit loopy, and the scenery is beautiful — although it made me feel cold.
