Review - Dream Wife
Kinda cute, but silly and unrealistic.

Description: | Clemson Reade (Cary Grant), on a business trip to Burkistan, meets Tarji (Betta St. John), a princess who has been trained to please men. When Clem returns to the states and his fiancee Effie (Deborah Kerr) who works for the U.S. State Department, he notices the difference between the princess and the emancipated American woman. He and Effie quarrel and break off their engagement. Clem sends for Tarji, but it's three months before they can marry. Meanwhile, Effic is assigned to escort the princess. She teaches her about emancipation and, on the even of the wedding, Tarji tells Clem that she wants to be his friend but doesn't love him. This pleases Clem because he has fallen back in love with Effie. Everything works out in the end and Clem and Effie get back together. |
