Description:Clint Eastwood is Jonathan Hemlock, a retired government assassin who works as an art professor. He's recalled into action to kill the two men who murdered an old friend — all part of some twisted plot to plant false chemical weapon plans on the enemy. He finds out that one of the killers will be climbing the north face of the Eiger, and that he has a limp. Hemlock goes into training with Ben (George Kennedy), then joins the climbing team. Halfway up the mountain, the climbers get caught in a blizzard. The other three fall to their deaths, but Hemlock is rescued by Ben — right as he realizes Ben is the man he was sent to kill. But the government thinks the killer was one of the guys who fell off the mountain, so Hemlock lets Ben live. There are also a bunch of women who find Hemlock irresistible, but they don't factor in the plot.

Review - Eiger Sanction, The

The movie moved slowly, but even so, it wasn't that it was so terrible to watch moment by moment. It's just that when you put the whole thing together, it made no sense. I'll just mention one of the huge flaws here — Why do you have to climb the most difficult mountain in Europe to find out if a guy limps?
