The language was unnecessarily crude and the plot has been done a hundred times over, but it was done well here and kept my interest.

| Description: | Sergeant Tom Highway (Clint Eastwood) is a hardened Marine veteran who often gets in trouble due to drinking and brawling. He's assigned an ill-disciplined recon platoon and drills them to be combat ready while dealing with an unexperienced, by-the-book commanding officer. Highway realizes that his career is nearing the end, so off duty he's trying to understand women so he can win back his ex-wife Aggie (Marsha Mason). The platoon gets sent to Grenada, and Highway leads them to a rescue of American hostages and the taking of a hill. When he gets home, he finds Addie waiting for him. |
