When the diplomat sails for Europe by himself, the vamp boards the ship and soon has him under her spell. He's eventually dismissed from his position and returns home, vamp in tow. His wife and friends try everything they can to separate him from the evil woman, but all the vamp has to do is look at him and he wilts into her arms. Review - A Fool There Was

Not really a story. More of a straight morality tale. I'm not sure who would want to see this. It was Theda Bara's first starring role and one of her few movies to survive. I think her reputation would be better off if none of her movies survived. She was thoroughly unattractive. The "thing" she did to vamp men was to throw her shoulders and head back, flare her nostrils and stare down her nose. It looked tremendously silly and unappealing. There was no character development of any of the characters. All in all, a pretty long hour and seven minutes.
