Review - Wait Until Dark

A great suspense movie. Audrey Hepburn does a fantastic job as the blind woman, and Alan Arkin ... Let's just say it's very difficult to accept that the evil thug in this film was played by the same guy who played the dentist in The In-Laws.

My wife and I had one major problem with the movie — the way Susy's husband treats her like a trained poodle. Watch for this particularly in the final scene of the movie. It's unbelievable.

I watched it again in June, 2023 and had a lot more problems with it this time. Hepburn does well with her role, but the plot is moronic. Her husband told her where he got the doll, so why didn't she just give it to the bad guys and be done with it? Why did Arkin's character wear disguises to fool a blind woman? Why didn't Susy ever lock her apartment door, even when the bad guys kept walking in and out? Why didn't she have Gloria call the police from the apartment upstairs? And why, why would she love her manipulative jerk of a husband? I'd probably give it a 6 now.
