Description:Show business partners Jim Hardy (Bing Crosby) and Ted Hanover (Fred Astaire) split up over Lila (Virginia Dale). Jim buys a farm in Connecticut, and after exhausting himself with work decides to operate it as an inn open only on holidays. Linda Mason (Marjorie Reynolds) to perform in the floor show and the two are soon in love. Then Ted shows up and convinces Linda to go to Hollywood with him. Jim closes the inn, but decides to make one more play for Linda. She returns and marries him. Ted goes to the inn also, with Lila.

Review - Holiday Inn

Cute. Certainly not to be taken seriously. Some of the songs written for the various holidays are awful — particularly the Abraham Lincoln song, performed in black face by Bing Crosby and Marjorie Reynolds (and therefore cut out of T.V. showings of the movie).
