Well-paced movie in which there is a lot of suspense even though nothing actually goes wrong during the planning and the escape attempt.

| Description: | Based on a true story. Frank Morris (Clint Eastwood) is sent to Alcatraz because of his frequent escape attempts from other prisons. He joins up with the Anglin brothers and figures out a way to dig through the wall of his cell, climb a ventilation shaft and get to the shore of the island where they take off with floats made from raincoats. A fourth man was in on the plan but didn't go because he chickened out at first and then couldn't get up the shaft by himself. No trace of the men were ever found. |
