Description:When a space shuttle is stolen mid-flight, James Bond (Roger Moore) visits Drax Industries, led by Hugo Drax (Michael Lonsdale), which makes the shuttles. He meets Holly (Lois Chiles) a NASA scientist who, it turns out, works for the CIA. They travel to Venice and Rio and figure out that Drax plans to destroy the human population of the world with a gas that doesn't hurt animals. Drax has transported a group of "perfect" humans to his space station to repopulate the world. Drax hires Jaws (Richard Kiel) to stop Bond, but when Jaws realizes Drax would have no place for him in his perfect world, Jaws joins Bond and Holly on Drax's space station to destroy it. Holly pilots a shuttle back to earth and blows up the poison pods Drax managed to launch before he was killed.

Review - Moonraker

An absolutely ludicrous plot. The movie was set in space because of the success of Star Wars a few years earlier. Even the scenes set on Earth are ridiculous, like a gondola that has wheels so it can be driven on land—for some reason. Lois Chiles and especially Lonsdale both appear to be completely bored throughout, giving off no emotion whatsoever even in moments of crisis. Roger Moore was getting too old to play Bond, but this got even worse for the next couple movies.
