Actually not a bad movie. It does bring out the pointlessness of material gain and the sadness of death. But I didn't really care about any of the characters and so had nobody to root for. Among other problems are occasional overacting by Stewart—like when he "falls" off a wall and "rolls" down not much of a hill. Also Leigh is much too attractive to be the wandering waif whom nobody wants, as she's portrayed in this movie.
