Description:John Breen (John Wayne) is a Kentucky militiaman returning home from fighting with Andrew Jackson. In Alabama, he falls in love with a French girl (Vera Ralston), part of a community of French exiles after Napoleon's defeat. Breen decides to stick around. He soon discovers a plot to defraud the French of their land. With the help of his sidekick (Oliver Hardy) and his band of militia, he manages to defeat the plotters and marry the girl.

Review - Fighting Kentuckian, The

The plot was overly-complicated and not at all what made the movie interesting. The relationship between John Wayne and Oliver Hardy was fun to watch and in a few places laugh-out-loud hilarious.
