Description:The origin of the crew from the original TV show. James Kirk (Chris Pine) is a cadet on probation when the entire Star Fleet is called to repel an attack on Vulcan. His buddy, Bones (Karl Urban) sneaks him aboard the brand new ship Enterprise, on which Spock (Zachary Quinto) is first officer. When the captain is captured, Spock decides to meet with the rest of the fleet. Kirk wants to chase the enemy ship to keep it from attacking earth. He is arrested by Spock and expelled to an ice planet. He meets the old Spock, back from the future, who convinces him to return to the ship and get the young Spock mad. He does, Spock steps down, and Kirk takes over the ship. He and Spock make up and decide to attack the enemy ship together. They succeed, and Kirk is given the Enterprise permanently, with Spock as his first officer.

Review - Star Trek

I saw it at the Catlow with Sally and L. with Nate and Karen Kauffman and Hannah Tran. I enjoyed it more than I expected to. There was quite a bit of humor, and it was exciting, but I find the space scenes dull after a while. It was enjoyed more by those who'd seen the original TV show who got all the in-jokes.
