Pre-code and pretty scandalous for the time. Cary Grant played the cad but his was the only character that treated Ruth right.

| Description: | Ruth Brock (Nancy Carroll) has her reputation ruined when a scorned boyfriend starts the rumor that she spent the night with notorious ladies man Romer Sheffield (Cary Grant). She did spend some time with him, but he was a gentleman and helped her out when she was stranded by the boyfriend. Ruth flees to her old friend Bill (Randolph Scott) who asks her to marry him but then backs out when he finds out about Romer. He changes his mind and forgives her, but by then she's decided to go off with Romer for real to get married. |
