The movie is charming, although the speed and smoothness with which the troubled kids' problems were solved was a bit much. Some of the techniques the parents used to reach them would be frowned upon these days, but that means they're probably worth trying. The movie ends with Jane choosing to dance with her dad at the prom and Jimmy John winning the Boy Scout Eagle award and thanking his parents in his speech.
