Description:Napoleon is attacking Russia. Prince Andrei (Mel Ferrer) on his way to war, meets Natasha (Audrey Hepburn) and falls in love. They pledge to get married when he returns, but while he's gone, she meets Anatol, a rake who is already married, and tries to run off with him. She is prevented from doing so by Pierre (Henry Fonda), a friend of both her and Andrei. Andrei finds out and calls off the engagement, then gets mortally wounded. He's brought to Natasha's house, and she cares for him until he dies. The French invade and take Moscow. Pierre is captured. But winter gets the better of Napoleon's army and they're forced to retreat. Pierre is freed and returns to marry Natasha himself.

Review - War and Peace

Very slow moving and dull when Audrey wasn't on the screen. She manages to be lovely and liven things up here and there. Fonda and Ferrer both did a good job of portraying inanimate objects, they were so wooden and dull.
