On his first holiday, he meets Julia Seton (Doris Nolan) and they get engaged. When Johnny visits Julia's family he finds out they're very rich. Julia's father offers him a job at his bank and begins to plan his life. Julia's sister Linda (Katharine Hepburn) falls in love with Johnny, but also with his disdain for wealth. Review - Holiday

This movie ought to be very popular these days with its subtle criticism of wealth. I totally sympathized with Johnny's desire for adventure and meaning. Hepburn's character here was interesting, but I don't care at all for her brash, abrasive personality.
