Notes:Born in 1929 in Germany, Anne Frank spent two years of her life in astonishing circumstances: she was hidden with seven other people in a nest of rooms in Amsterdam. Her diary tells of the life of a group of Jews waiting in fear of discovery by the Nazis. Yet within it, a tender love story slowly unfolds — from her shy avoidances of a young man named Peter to their incessant glances and first kiss.

COMMENTS — In August, 1944, led by a Dutch informer, the Germans raided the house where Anne and her family were hidden. Anne was sent to the concentration camp at Belsen where she died sometime in the spring of 1945. She was not yet 16 years old.
