| Notes: | Relive the adventures as Robin and his band — Friar Tuck, Little John, Will Scarlet — cavort about Sherwood Forest for the sheer joy and fun of it. However, all is not sport. There is the Sheriff of Nottingham, a villain, who sees Robin as competition. He will stop at nothing to rid the forest of Robin Hood and his men. COMMENTS — Howard Pyle’s magazine and book illustrations are among the finest of the turn-of-the-century Art Nouveau style. He wrote and illustrated several other children’s novels including Otto of the Silver Hand, Jack Ballister’s Fortunes and The Story of King Arthur and His Knights. |
