| Notes: | Thirty-two-year-old Mary Kingsley traveled to West Africa (now Gabon and Cameroon) and explored the country, much of the time alone or with natives. She canoed the rivers, tramped through the jungles and climbed Cameroon Mountain in search of adventure, fish and information of religious cultures. She describes her adventures with understated humor and aplomb. COMMENTS — This is a very interesting book about a very interesting lady who did as she wished, never had regrets and enjoyed life completely. |
