Review - Undaunted Courage
Somehow dry. Too much emphasis on Lewis to the exclusion of Clark and the other members. Seemed "thrown together" somehow.

Notes: | The account of one of the most momentous journeys in American history. Ambrose follows the Lewis and Clark Expedition from Thomas Jefferson’s hope of finding a waterway to the Pacific, through the heart-stopping moments of the actual trip, to Lewis’s lonely demise on the Natchez Trace. Along the way, Ambrose shows us the American West as Lewis saw it — wild, awesome and pristinely beautiful. Stephen E. Ambrose is the author of numerous history books, including the New York Times bestseller D-Day and a two-volume biography of Dwight D. Eisenhower. He also wrote Nothing Like It in the World about the building of the transcontinental railroad. |
