Review - Peace Like a River

The writing was excellent. I particularly liked Swede's character. But I had a feeling throughout that there was a deeper meaning I was missing. There was a thread of mysticism — Reuben is convinced his father is capable of performing miracles — which made the book a bit strange, but it was free of vulgarity, had a respect for God and kept my interest all the way through.
