Notes:World War One in East Africa. Gabriel Cobb is captured by the Germans. His brother, Felix, in England has an affair with Gabriel's wife, who commits suicide from guilt. Felix enlists to find Gabriel. Meanwhile, Gabriel falls for Liesl Von Bishop, a nurse and wife of a German Officer. Liesl helps Gabriel escape. Her husband tracks him down and kills him. Felix swears revenge but Von Bishop dies of fever. Felix is wounded and returns home at war's end.
