Notes:A stupid story about a writer who wants to escape his life. He buys a coal mine on Crete and hires Zorba, a hedonist who's life consists of food, dance and women. Zorba convinces his boss to have an affair with a widow. She is murdered by a mob because a boy kills himself with love for her. The point of the book is freedom — from thought, God, responsibilty. I skimmed it.
