Notes:After the death of his wife, Mike Rodenska had to get away. He took refuge at the home of his old buddy, Troy Jamison, in Florida. But the sunny beach turned out to be not much of a refuge after all — Troy was in over his head in a land deal, suffering from psycological problems left over from the war and involved with a floozy. Mike stuck around to help, but in the end was only able to provide a strong shoulder for Troy's wife, Mary, to cry on.

Review - Slam the Big Door

I just reread this book 16 years after I first read it. I'm not sure what appealed to me so much the first time. Mike's character had character, and I admired the way he stubbornly did the right thing, but the plot wasn't much and the action wasn't much and this time I'd probably only rate it a 6.
