Border Town Girl — Lane Sanson, an out-of-work reporter is strong-armed into taking heroine across the border from Mexico to the United States. His contact, Diana, wants out of the life she was trapped into. Lane helps her escape with a small prison sentence, and she helps him get back together with his ex-wife.

Linda — Paul and Linda go on a vacation with their friends, Jeff and Stella. Linda and Jeff have an affair. Linda shoots Stella, and she and Jeff attempt to frame Paul, but a lawyer who's willing to listen to his story manages to find the truth and Linda and Jeff are executed.

Review - Border Town Girl

Gritty and blunt, like all of MacDonald's books. Both plots are unbelievable, but Linda less laughably so.
