Several story-lines, most of them involving some member of the church who is pious on the outside but sinning behind closed doors. The one appealing story was of a quiet accountant who travels to the area in search of his reporter wife who disappeared while writing an article on the church. It turns out she was murdered by an ambitious member of the staff who got angry when she wouldn't help him bring down the head pastor.
