Notes:Jeff Lockwood returns to the Mohawk Valley to meet his friends, Carl Ives and the Watsons. On the way, he discovers an orphaned Indian boy whom he names Brown Shadow. The residents of the village want to kill the boy, and Jeff is forced to flee with him. He soon discovers that the ringleader of the trouble-makers is selling to the Indians and, with the help of the boy, manages to expose the truth. He and the boy are welcomed, and Jeff marries Maud Watson.

Review - Brown Shadow

This was never my favorite among Dad's books, and I still think it's a lesser work than Indian Drums, but I enjoyed it. I suppose part of my problem when I was younger was that Maud didn't play a bigger role — I've always been a sucker for romance.
