Notes:Captain Daley takes the four boys in his Sunday school class on a camping trip to Thunderhead Lake in spite of the angry reception by the owner of the local store. Their trip is full of adventures: strange explosions, sea monsters floating the lake, suspicious men with guns. With the help of two rangers, the boys track down an escaped convict (the son of the store owner) who was also shocking fish for his brother's restaurant. The sea monsters turn out to be parade balloons. The boys also meet Rufus, a young local lad who hangs out with them and trusts Christ.

Review - Captain Daley's Crew at Thunderhead Lake

Just three questions. Why would you take a group of junior high boys camping in a place where there were dynamite explosions and strange men with guns? How long would a group of junior high boys be fooled by parade balloons? Why would an escaped convict who was hiding out advertise his presence by exploding dynamite?
