Review - Confess Fletch
Menti is an Italian count whose paintings have been stolen. Fletch travels to Boston to investigate an art dealer who has sold two of the paintings. He rents an apartment and goes out for dinner. When he gets back, there’s a naked woman dead on the floor. Fletch calls the police, and the case is given to Inspector Flynn. Everyone thinks Fletch is guilty of the murder, but Flynn isn’t so sure and allows Fletch to roam free. Fletch eludes his police tail and follows the art dealer to his country home. He breaks in and finds the paintings and hides them in his van. Meanwhile, Flynn has figured that the art dealer is the murderer of the girl. He tried to frame Fletch when he figured out Fletch was looking for the paintings that the art dealer stole with the help of the count’s daughter.
Convoluted, but with good dialogue and characters.
