Review - Ulysses S. Grant: The Galena Years
Sal and I stayed at a bed and breakfast outside Galena. I found this booklet in the lobby and read it to find out about the Grant sites in town. It wasn’t thrilling, but it helped me locate his first house and the two stores where he worked, so it did what I wanted it to do. It told about him working in his father’s leather stores, his departure for the war and his celebrated return when he was given his more-famous house — the one he rarely spent any time in.
