I read this a page or two at a time the whole time we were packing, moving and unpacking because all my other books were in boxes. Sibley is great at drawing birds, and his field marks are helpful in the field, but it wasn’t a very exciting read because he tells very little about the birds, concentrating on field marks. And he insists on representing the songs based on his interpretation instead of the old-fashioned word designations that help me so much. As an in-the-field guide, I give it a 9. But as a read, it gets a 7.
