Notes:Matthew Hervey is stationed with the Sixth Light Dragoons in India. He visits the theater of the Burmese war until injured, and is then sent with his troop to participate in the siege of Bhurtpore, a huge fortress held by a usurper who took the throne of a British ally. Hervey's man, Armstrong, a miner in England, showed the engineers how to dig a tunnel under the works. The explosion blasted a gap in the walls which enabled the army to enter and defeat the usurper.

Review - Sabre's Edge, The

Somehow it works, although a lot of it is just everyday life in a cavalry troop and the action only takes up a small bit. Maybe that's why I like it, just slice of life stuff, somewhat like Patrick O'Brian.
