The title story Moving On is about a 14-year-old girl who is abandoned by her family. She gets a ride from a peddler. When they get caught in a blizzard, he gets sick and she cares for him and manages to get him, his horses and his wagon, through a several-days journey to safety. They get married and travel around the west in his wagon.

Review - Moving On

I really enjoyed the early stories, set in the old West. Toward the end of the book, the setting was more recent and the stories were mostly about girls and their mistakes in love.
