Review - High Road to China
The basis of the movie. Somehow fiction doesn't grab me like it used to. This is a book I would once have loved, but it barely held my interest.

| Notes: | Eve Tozer's father has been kidnapped by a Chinese warlord who wants his jade statue back. Eve has two weeks to get to China. She hires Bede O'Malley, WWI ace pilot to take her. Along the way they pick up Kern, a German ace looking for a purpose after his country lost the war. They tangle with despots in Turkey, rebels in Afghanistan and British red tape in India, but they make it in the nick of time. O'Malley gets the girl, but not right away. |
