Notes:A day (in 1923) in the life of Mrs. Dalloway as she prepares for a party. Her old boyfriend returns from a long stay in India, her 17-year-old daughter, Elizabeth hangs out with a strange religious woman, her husband goes out to lunch and a shell-shocked soldier commits suicide by jumping out a window. It's all told stream-of-consciousness style, from the perspective of the thoughts of the various characters.

Review - Mrs. Dalloway

The story is dull — everyone wanders about thinking how pathetic everyone else is and how they themselves are the only ones who have found the key to happiness, except when they're not happy because they found out somebody else things they're pathetic. The writing style is clever for about six pages and then just gets old.
