Notes:The author and three friends, Don, Matt and Ed set out to climb a difficult route up Mount Huntington in Alaska. After all the usual problems, they make it to the summit. Climbing down at night, Ed fell to his death, either because of equipment failure or because he neglected to hook on properly. The other three manage to get down alive.

Review - Mountain of My Fear, The

Roberts tries to justify climbing and Ed's death, but I'm not buying it. If they had succeeded, they would have accomplished nothing but to give themselves some thrills and gain some esteem from their peers. To me, it's no different than a guy who drives his car 100 mph and misses a curve and crushes himself against a tree.
