| Notes: | O'Hanlon travels into the northern Amazon Basin with a friend from England and several local guides and hunters. They explore remote rivers and climb into the highlands around the highest mountain in South America outside the Andes. The friend quits and goes home, but O'Hanlon travels with the others to visit the Yanomami, a primitive tribe with a culture of aggression. He spends a night in their village, samples their hallucinogenic drugs and observes their lifestyle. All along the way, he notes the wildlife of the jungle — much of which can kill you or make you very sick. |
