Chichester almost halved the previous record for sailing around the world solo. I suppose that is impressive, but this book wasn't. At least not for someone who isn't a sailing geek. It's all about what sails he set in what winds and all the tasks he had to do about the boat to keep it in sailing condition. It all read pretty much the same. Even when something interesting did happen, his description was rather dull. Most of the time, he complains — about his food, about the weather, about the boat, about the work, about his health.
