List(s):"Carp 500"
Category: "Fiction - Adventure"
Pages:261
Year of Publication:1904
Date Read:10/26/1996
Notes:An exotic romance set in the jungles of South America. Able is a young man who lives among the Indians. He tells the story of Rima, a strange bird-like woman with whom he falls in love.

COMMENTS — Although remembered chiefly for his early romances, which were not popular when published, Hudson achieved fame during his lifetime for his nature books on the English countryside that did much to foster the “back-to-nature” movement of the 1920s and 1930s. These, ironically, are little read today.
