Category: "Drama"
Pages:142
Year of Publication:1947
Date Read:01/23/1996
Notes:Streetcar concerns the mental and moral disintegration and ultimate ruin of Southern belle, Blanche DuBois. Her neurotic, genteel pretensions are no match for the harsh realties symbolized by her brutish brother-in-law, Stanley Kowalski.

COMMENTS — Williams won the Pulitzer Prize for the play. Marlon Brando’s performance of the role of Stanley in the movie version popularized the T-shirt as acceptable outer-wear.
