The author spends a year investigating the Bible, talking with people who do, and don't, take it literally and attempts to live parts of it literally himself. He spents eight months in the Old Testament and four and a half in the New Testament.

Review - Year of Living Biblically, The

Interesting but sad. Jacobs is a liberal agnostic and so interprets everything to fit his bias. He claims, by the end of the year, to believe in "something" but states definitely that it's not the God of the Bible and certainly not the God of fundamentalism. He does admit that some fundamentalists are nice, sincere people, but that's as far as he goes. The sad part was the self-serving babel of opinions he got from people claiming to be Christians. It's a wonder anyone gets saved with the face "Christianity" presents to the world.
