Notes:The famous war correspondent's reports from Italy, England and France during 1943 and 1944. He talks about the big picture some, but mostly he tells of the experiences of the low-ranking soldiers themselves — both those on the front lines and those in supporting roles. He mixes humor and interesting bits with descriptions of the horrors of war.

Review - Brave Men

Excellent. Pyle was an amazing writer who kept my interest throughout. The short chapters and short paragraphs within chapters, each dealing with different people or subjects, made it a better read in small sections than for long stretches, but I enjoyed every bit of it.
