Notes:Subtitle: When U.S. and German Soldiers Joined Forces in the Waning Hours of World War II in Europe

Several prominent French politicians were held by the Germans in a castle in Austria. At the end of the war, when everything in the area was in chaos, an American officer and his tank crew joined up with some German soldiers who were sick of the war to defend the castle against an attack by SS troops until they were relieved by the advancing American Army.

Review - Last Battle, The

A very matter-of-fact account by an author with little creativity. I suppose the fact that American and German troops fought together during WWII is interesting, but since there were only about eight of each, it really wasn't much of a battle and the telling of it could have been done in a much shorter book.
