Conrad makes sure that the reader doesn't miss the point that the mood of this book is black, dark, moody and raw. He does this by using, in every sentence, the words "black, dark, moody and raw." Pages went by with nothing but bleak adjectives. The book has no redeeming qualities, and I don't much care for Conrad's writing style. It seems black, dark, moody and raw.
