Notes:Herbert Hoover, (1874-1964), the 31st President gained prominence in four major careers: engineering, international relief work, government and politics and reform of governmental bureaucracy. Although Hoover spent 30 years in public service, the highest point of his public career, his presidency, was dominated by the Depression and proved a bitter disappointment.

Review - Herbert Hoover: A Public Life

This book was boring, but I suspect that's not because the writing was boring. I think Hoover was just boring. Basically, he spent his entire life as a committee member — How exciting is that?
